As a celebration of our recent launch on FEB 22, we’re starting March with AMA a little bit different than what you’re used to.
Many of you expressed your wish to listen to our AMA on Twitter Spaces and we couldn’t call ourselves a ‘community-driven’ platform if not actually listening to what our community has to say.
So, our decision wasn’t hard. From now on, all AMAs, starting with the two we have in March, will be held on our Twitter Spaces chat!
Check out the line-up.
Physical-world elaborated in the digital
Flavia Mazzanti is an Italian-Brazilian Vienna based artist, architect and entrepreneur in the field of virtual reality and digital media. She graduated with distinction at the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, receiving the Gustav Peichl Award for architectural drawing and the Würdigungspreis for artistic work. Flavia is active as a lecturer in national and international talks, symposiums and interviews. Her work has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions, screened and awarded at multiple national and international festivals, among others the Ars Electronica Festival, DA Z — Digital Arts Zurich, Cinemateca Festival in Ancona, Athens Digital Arts Festival.
We’ve been having a privilege to see Flavia’s work already minted on the Endemic marketplace and under the collection name Sympoietic Bodies.
It’s an artistic-philosophical project exploring the disruption of the boundaries between the human body and its social and physical surroundings. The work has been realized as a hybrid short film and a media art project, being screened in more than 20 national and international film festivals, receiving multiple awards, and being exhibited in solo and group exhibitions.
From a philosophical point of view, Flavia embraced the theories on the multiplicity of the French philosophers Gilles Deleuze and Felix Guattari, and the discussion on hybrid organisms and entangled systems of the American feminist scholars Donna Haraway and Anna Tsing, with the interest of experimenting and extending them in an artistic, architectural and sociopolitical context. The human and non-human bodies are therefore no longer seen as pure and static ‘objects’, but as part of an environment which continually changes and behaves through the interaction and exchange with other beings. From here the word “sympoiesis”, which means “making-with”, “creating together”.
There is still so much to tell about this series and many questions we have to ask Flavia. So be sure to save the date and join us on Twitter Spaces — MAR 17, 18h CET.
World-class awarded animated movies you will fall in love with
Under the name Prime Render Studios, brothers Popović are award-winning artists with over 30 years of creating between the two of them and more than 70 international awards. Their work has been featured in CG Magazine, Animation Reporter Magazine, Expose series, just to name a few and won OSCAR qualifying Animated Eye Award at Aspen Shortfest and Jury Award at Annecy Film Festival.
With all the dedication and devotion they have for their work, people and partners it’s no strange that we wanted Prime Render founders in our AMA. Two great videos are already minted on the Endemic marketplace Cyclists and Planemo.
CYCLISTS — The cycling season is nearing its grand finale. During the final race, the two men in the lead are competing for more than the Grand Trophy; they are fighting for the affection of a lady and fulfilment of their erotic fantasies. Meanwhile, the small port town prepares for the arrival of a large ocean liner and its dashing captain. One of the most awarded short animated films in the world in the year 2018–2019.!
PLANEMO — In a society where everyone is mindlessly orbiting around daily routines, what happens to those thrown out of that system? They could soon find themselves on a path that leads outside the habitable zone.
Learn more about it on MAR 31, 18h CET
